my last post
Writing the last post on
my blog vacation@home I feel a strange sense of emotional outburst, not only I
have to go back to my place but also I will have to put my Delhi love (saddi
dilli) into a long hiatus. A brief period which will last for about five years and
may extended up to a decade.
Writing this blog in my mentor’s
(proclaimed from my sides) cozy flat in Kalkaji and looking out at the azure
sky roughly studded by nimbus clouds and busy main road with commuters gushing
like water in a pipe and the low floor speeding the wide road. I am reminded of
my first individual visit to this city on occasion of my boarding school
reunion. It was an unofficial reunion because it was idea of my old pal AD to
reunite all those who are now residing in N.C.R. So we met for first time at Bagel’s,
Hauz Khas. (YUP! There are so many in Delhi. I have tried all of them but its
still which suits me. I still like the fuchsia grown inside in the earthen vase),
we were 6 including me-4 guys and two gals.
Starting my circles with handful of
people, now I find at least two or three faces smiling (occasionaly few grins) at
me of many unknown in the crowd and me responding them with a 'Hi' or
'whazup?', whenever I am at Sri fort's, S.K.A, seminars, band performance, and
in many book fares in the city. Mathematically calculating the total period of
my stay in Delhi it turns out to be very fugitive. However, the Delhi culture
has a profound impact on my life and perspective.
Past three years and
specially talking about 2k11 I visited many Indian cities, from Ahmadabad to Guwahati, and,
and Chennai to Chandigarh it was Delhi which I missed most.
To accepting an outsider,
a small town guy and accommodating him in the city, my praises goes to Delhi. It’s
the city which supported and in fact nurtured my bohemian nature.
Nobody cared
if I venture out in my night suits, yawning and finding myself eating@barista
near kamala nagar at evening. Literary no one twitch their eyebrows on that
scene, and those who knew me and show a deep care probably blame my nocturnal
habit.
It was not a matter of 'concern' if I was found with someone, hands in hand near Lady Irwin's.
Nobody was there to show
any kind of hypocrite care, even if I drench myself completely in rain on main
road of Rohini metro works at midnight where you can hear the sound of your heartbeat…pounding
against your sternum. I was myself, free, independent to live, to stroll, and
to dance in the drizzle. Here I don't have to pretend that I am enjoying
monsoon, by merely watching the dogs mating on the street from my room’s window,
back in my place.
It's the drivel nature
of city which helped me in discovering myself, perhaps I am too eccentric. Although enjoying my freedom to the fullest i never did any kind of panga which would later turn out to be a threat to my independence.
The city made me, carved
me into an artist (as other claims. I am not boasting!). Now I am an amateur
theatre artist, an avid S.E.O. writer,
an established percussionist, an enthusiastic landscape photographer and
an occasional blogger. Now I have loads of hobbies to pursue instead of
loafing around in Select City walk.
I started as a newcomer
a month back in this blogging arena and now I have 367 page reviews with my
last blog receiving 91 views to my credits and many mails from readers.
Chasing for the
autograph of Arundhati Roy, Javed Akhtar and many others in J.L.F. and hay
festivals, attending the numerous seminars and short courses in creative
writing and storytelling, writing is now an inevitable part of my life.
But writing a blog is a
different thing, if you are writing for yourself then you should like it, but
in a blog it should be readable. You should be entertaining. You should be
sober not inebriated (ha ha I am gazing at the Lagavulin Single Malt bottle lying in front of me.
Don't worry I always drink in moderation. The blogs you read was never, and
will never be written in a manner which sounds typically written in a hung-over
mood. I only write when I find myself best in senses. It's a modus vi vendi between
you and me. I love you all and will never want to lose any of you). In blogging You should
sound zealous and not indolent. Otherwise
they will not read yours; they have zillion of other options.
As I stated in the
beginning, this is my last post under vacation@home. Don’t worry I will be back
under the same address www.senselessuniverse.blogspot.in with some new and more exciting stuff.
Past few days on the
idea of leaving this city, I feel very bereaved. Surely, I am losing my close friend.
My adrenaline. My serotonin. My heparin. (You people don't worry. I have hired
a psychiatrist to tackle my trauma).
‘Instead of draining your
melancholy on a gin or vodka you should look for a positive attitude' he advised
me.
Yes! I would. So under
that advice I am joining all you old guys at the Rock a Fella with Moon Shadow
Frequency live. With the news of Neerja parting
away from band, their music sounds like stuck in a rift.
Ms Neerja MSF will miss
u with its entire fan base. So please give a second thought to your decision. Btw
I respect your life and its priorities.
So c u there. Enjoy life.
Enjoy Delhi. Keep smiling (if not, try it).
Perhaps, I want to end
all this on a good note.
And Delhi...wait for me, I will be back with my old attitude.

of renomination and K JO....
A month back my sis asked me about guessing the winners of spits
villa 5.
‘Renominate Dushyant and Priya’ I said hastily and she gave
me if-you-don't-like-it-then-please -don't crack-jokes- about it look.
I may accept that the idea was ridiculous. This is damn true;
but the same thing is being done in our national politics, democratic politics
as we claim proudly. Yes! I am talking about the race to lutyens. The electoral
procedure to choose our president and our vice president.
Pranab Da and P. Sangma rocking the house with nomination
from the U.P.A and the N.D.A. respectively.
Our honorable Vice Prez Hamid Ansari being RENOMINATED and
Jaswant Singh nominated for the chair of
vice-president. Before I reach to my point I would like to remind all my fellow
readers, long before the scenario of Trinamool congress party chief and Cheif Minister
of West Bengal Ms Banerjee(madam if u went furious after reading my previous
blog then please ignore it. Now you can see how much I respect you. Your mouth
must me gaped to know even I like rosogollas, sandesh and fishes...besides our favorite
dahi mishthi...readers don't mind my flattering. Actually I am planning a visit
to Kolkata the very next week. I don't want Bengal police arresting me at S.C .I
Airport and interrogating me in SRK’s U.S.A like episode. I am scared to remind
about a professor of Jadavpur University who was arrested on account of drawing
a caricature of this Singur Messiah. Poor cartoonist!) Bullying our 'sincere'
economist P.M. and made all the senior leaders of U.P.A to run for their
dentures in this whole issue of Prez election, we were supporting the idea of
RENOMINATING our favorite Missile Man Dr. A.P.J.A Kalam.
Getting to the point, ok I accept this idea of renominating
and renominations. But my clear cut question is 'do our country is lacking a
handful of so called good and eligible to lead this country? All the proclaimed
gems are not fit for this chair?
The idea of imagining Pranab Da as taking the Guard of honors
on republic day parade at Raisina Hills is exiting. But if we accept that all
those good and experienced people we need to run our country are on verge of
extinction like Asiatic lions, then situation is very grim.
Is our faulty system is responsible? We are unable produce just four or five people
to produce eligible candidate in a 5 year gap? If this situation is existing at
this apex level then it will beyond comprehension to think of all other office bearers
in other government offices.
I don’t know which way our country is heading?
I can’t stop myself humming….
Kadmo ko zamin pe
tikata chal, jeevan to dhoka hai tu khata chal
Kya bhala?kya
bura?kya khota?kya khara?
In sab me khoyega
to jee nahi payega...
Batman-The Dark Knight Rises is a fantastic 'entertainment'
with a little bit of cinema in it. A guy open fired at the moviegoers in Denver(the
city known for country music man, John Denver…country roads take me home to the
place I belong..) the reason coz of which I added this serious tag 'cinema'
with it. After all, movies are all about implementing in our daily chores.
Only one fact which was difficult to assimilate when I first
glanced at morning newspaper, how a youth can open fire in such a prudent
manner, killing 15 and injuring 50s others. A majestic shooter! I would recommend
Indian Olympic association to get that fellow bailed and produce him as a
shooter in London Olympic from our side. We might get assured of few medals.
Talking about London Olympics, I know the whole carp how Karan
Johar got himself on list of guests along with our P.M. Well the whole story was
narrated by a Scottish chukroo who works as fitness trainer to Pippa Middleton
(oh! I love hr a**… I mean arm...every time I am not that straight...
Statuary Warning: If
things are read as it is without pondering on my fishnets of words it would be
far easier to the readers. ;-) ).
The story goes like this:
'His majesty was eager to invite Jennifer Lopez
to the grand opening of Olympics. So he called one of his office staff of the
royal family and said in very grave manner “also include J LO ". The
bearer who have a desi Indian tinge after watching Karan’s kkkg, khnh, kank and
other ks, and was scolded by his wife in same morning about his negligence to buy
her DVDs of other Karan’s movies, was humming K JO…K JO… KJO in his mind to
keep him reminded about the after office shopping work. So he ended up inviting
K JO to the ceremony.'
So if His Majesty is still expecting J LO to turn up; sir send
her intimation. It’s never too late to mend!
Ya...ya...One more thing yesterday I got an email in which
an avid reader mailed asked me in an inquisitive manner. 'R u really a maniac
like you sounds in your writing'.
So Ms. whatever u are, wherever u are, just make one thing
clear, I am not that maverick.
It’s
just a state called joblessness in which a person getting bored of snoring
tries to 'kill his time' in another "useless" way.

Cocktail of Life
Past few days back I was:
Reading newspaper's editorials, novels, eating and snoring
away.
Waiting anxiously for my college to start. Literary I am now
getting bored of this banal routine, just wasting my time in sleep. Sleeping
away! May be I am unable to withstand
the truth of life and its complexity and want to shut my eyes same as a grey color
pigeon closes its eyes when a black, frowning cat attacks it, planning to kill
the bird and that stupid pigeon, thinking that it will prevent that killer leap
of the cat to its appetite hunt and pretend to fool death.
Life is what you make it as Preeti Shenoy claims; May be her
determination can overcame even destiny but not mine. I am still struggling
with my mundane presence.
After all, for me “life” is like helping a tiny toddler to
buy candies, who with wide gaping eyes & by awesome pink color wrapping of
chocolate, points toward the container of bars and you help him buy them.
Later, when he tuck the bar between his
lips and take a swift bite he throws away the chocolate and makes an awful face,
and you realize that it was not liked by
that infant and you, showing a great deal of mercy buys him some other toffee.
Later in life when that neonate grows up and he makes same
choice in another field and ends up being on losers side, this time the pink
wrapping and the chocolate inside it nothing but merely a metaphor of time space, and obviously history. Then he
will be told him in a stern manner "look! You put all your pennies and
effort on it, and since it was your choice and you are alone responsible for
all the wrong happenings".
This time there may be two aspect of history:
Either the individual loses the strife or he stands up once
again in a strident manner and changes the perspective of things around him.
The editorials have nothing interesting in it, not in my interest
as I think gleefully. Usually an article will be there, cursing the present
government for inflation and G.D.P. I
usually skip that part except sometimes a political cartoon is printed in
middle of the printed matter and I give a vague look to it. The clear cut
reason is I don't have a family to support nor I am in a prospect of that. So I
don't have to worry about the recent rate histograms of onion, vegetable and
other groceries. Neither, I have to worry whether the recent petrol rate is
71.81 rupees and I have to shell out a clear 500 rupees currency note with
smiling Gandhi Ji (may be seeing our pathetic condition and thinking about his good
old days, the India of dreams, brings an ear to ear smile on his face) to get
your gasoline hungry fuel tank being filled. The simple fact is I don’t have
any vehicle which runs on any kind of liquid brought to our country through
pipelines from Iran or Middle East but I am in present possession of Mr. MacMillan’s
inventory. A bicycle!
Inflation and population in India, of India, is like
continental drift...ever increasing. Recent survey showed us that it is the
best topic to be discussed at tea time in Indian households. Other gossips
include Sunny Leone, Mamata Banerjee and Mayawati.
What else a mango man (aam admi) can do except exerting his frustration
in dharna, speeches and articles.
Other articles in the editorial include the political war between
Palestine and Israel, in which I have very less interest. I only know three
words Yasser Arafat, Hamas and Gaza in the whole massacre. And it will be least
shrewd for me to tell which one of the above three are hanging on which
frontier and I will be ending up with both parties tracking down me. After all I
am afraid of Mussad.
I read some article on Robert Zoƫ lick and the search for his
Successor. Why don't they give me a chance to chair World Bank?
I am smiling by the mere imagination of a person handling
billions of liquidity who never subscribe to the yellow pages himself. Probably
I would end up as transferring all money from Barak Obama's bank account;
relief fund for the people of Africa and the genocidal countries to the account
of Justin Bieber.
Of many, two novels which I read recently are worth
mentioning. One is "Delhi is not far" by Ruskin Bond and other "The
shadow lines" by Amitav Ghosh.
Ruskin Bond, another Bond known to me apart from James Bond,
chemical Bond, Dative Bond and Ionic Bond. The writer known for his children
stories was introduced to me by C.B.S.E in my high school English literature
book through his work "The night train at deoli".
Being Awarded the by The Sahitya Academy and The Padamas and loads
of other laurel he is simplest man in the novel, presumed by many literary
research scholars as his autobiography or a novel encircling his life.
The protagonist is an Urdu novelist struggling himself as a
full time writer.
There are other characters also, boring and fed up by their
melancholy state in a dusty city called Pipalnagar. The novella opens up the ‘white
dove dreams emotions’ in which we often feel cuddled in some or the other phase
of our life. The book is full of all those small town incidences of which our India
is still struggling.
Other book “The shadow lines” deals with human emotions and
the dichotomy of countries, areas and cultures. It is a novel which is hung
between the violence of 20th century world and India. From World War II, partition of Bangladesh (the
then East Pakistan) and riots in Kolkata (the then Calcutta).
The lighter side of the novel tells us about the narrator memories
of childhood (all those small memoirs fading away from our memories) and his
cousin Tribdib. It is part where all the hilarious side of Amitav Ghosh comes
up.
Talking about Cocktail…the bollywood affair written by
Imtiaz Ali. The movie is just an entertainment, Saif hanging up with Pinty and
Padukone. A guy with two girls going hand in hand, a condition which is rare
and beyond comprehension of Indians, on account of declining sex ratio. So obviously the movie had to based in London. And so it is!
According to my hypothesis, there are two kind of movies
made and watched. One is cinema, which is a theme based issue, which compels
you to use your brain and imagination to answer the question coming up in your
mind after watching the movie. Other is
entertainment, which is a theme less issue, no idea, vague script and worst cinematography.
In first category you may find the movie boring, but this is
the real cinema. Watch Nandita Das Firaaq…or any other movie directed by her. Try
Amol Apte’s. Watch Vishal Bhradwaj’s
movie. You can also try Madhur Bhandarkar’s, apart from loads of them in LA.
I am still reminded of how I thought for about 3 days after watching
‘water’ and each time only one question popped up in my mind. Why she left him
and loses her life herself?
Talking about category two…it includes all those movies
which are made as a profit and loss game. Don’t think I have any prejudice
toward those movies; some of them are good too. But the bottom line is “They
are simply entertainment”.
And Cocktail is a complete 3 hour entertainment driving in
between all the stale love triangles of Bollywood.
Even If u reach the Himalayas, you are still climbing just a
mountain…

weekend and relationship ends...
After loading my previous blog on the weekend, not the small
ones they are just fillers, I am talking about my novel and gym blog, I thanked
the week and how everything went so smoothly even amazed me.
"This is the problem with you" many times she said
to me (for her I have too many problems but see, I never discovered them my
self, after you came in my life you discovered all of them and left me solve them
all alone. Anyway for this amazing discovery I am in a midway of talk with The Royal
Swedish Academy, they will arrange a prize for you. They have a good experience
in this subject. They even adjusted Mr. Obama for piece (peace) prize). Amazing!
When I typed Obama it is red underlined telling me some sort of mistake. When I
right clicked it showed Osama in correction. Try it. I request the FBI to
arrest all these Microsoft office software designers who are respecting Osama
more than Obama.
May be someone gets more recognition after death.
Now I am waiting for my death or I am using an older version.
"You want your life to be problematic; life is so easy
to live". Indeed your Majesty, high words, my life is problematic because
of me.
Like I send invitations to problems and then I pretend that I
am having too much pain but in reality I am enjoying it. Heck...
I went to my bed because I was very tired. Writing blog is
very easy for me, but what makes it worth paying is, the extensive research I have
to do regularly on the internet.
My sleep was interrupted by "careless whisper”; my
ringtone, one of most refined vocals by George Michael. This ringtone I
assigned to her call (my mamma always says when this kind of ringtone u talk
too longer, may be your old friend calls u. yes mommy you can keep guessing.) Yes I am too childish, but it feels very cute.
After two or three vague movement of my hand around my pillow,
I luckily found my phone.
"Hello, where r u?"Saying like I am playing hide
and seek with her and now she is asking me, like I will appear from a bush
nearby yelling see -here I am...
“In my bed” I replied hoping that she will hung up thinking it’s not good to disturb someone in sleep. But
actually people don’t disturb lion, tiger or any wild animal, fearing it will
become prudent. This is not applicable in case of humans because generally we
are not cannibals.
"What the hell are you doing there?"She inquired.
Now what u do in your bed?
(When you are alone!
Readers don't think too much. ;-) It will harm your virtual memory).
Mostly we boys sleep on bed, do gals can do anything more
exciting than sleeping on bed when they are alone, then please feel free to
share it with me.
"Why so early" huh...Million dollar question, even
I don’t know why I am sleeping so early and giving a potential threat to my
nocturnal habit.
Saying "I don’t know" to a girl is far more dangerous
as she will think you are pretending not to talk or hiding something and this suspicion
will further give mighty exertion to her pea sized brain and more useless question
will pour in. ( I am not a male chauvinist but sorry gals this way life goes
on...be brave! Face the truth)
"Ok let's hang out “as she continued and saved me from
pouring out some potentially hazardous stuff.
It was Saturday and the usual hangout for teenager like us
is club...I am reminded of a classmate who used to go to temple on sat (ayushman
bhav putra).
It was usual rush of sat in "code" a new night
club near Yamuna banks. Paying "my" and "mine" charges and
looking at the stags and feeling sorry for them (sometimes you feel blessed to
be in a relationship, but only "sometime").
Like a true patriotic Indian we grabbed the free drinks.
Taking advantage of "free" is hereditary in Indian
blood and it is a hot topic of research in many universities abroad. I proudly proved
my sample. So all you guys toiling hard in labs doing research on this anthropological aspect must
say thanks to me...thank u sir...no not this way u morons, give me another one
and that too free!
Free pe free. Double dhamaka!
"So u want a break in ours..."she said looking
into my eyes.
Oh shit!
I just discussed it with one of my friend and this bastard
told her that I “want”…yr I was just taking opinions not giving decision.
Although our tongue weighs very little but only few people
are able to hold it.
Actually I am joining my college at my place and she is
joining at her owns. And practically from my view most LDRs don't work.
LDR-long distance relationship (lo ab do do rakho, as
defined by my friend).
Imagining my self as thrown out of the disco by a bouncer 10
times larger than me, after making hell in club because of this squabble. I initiated
to save myself.
"Enjoy , its not like that” I replied like I really don’t
care.
After boozing up we went to the dance floor, as the DJ waved
to me in the scarlet lights of floor. He was previously in “frog” but now
chilling up in “code”. It often feels good when somebody old waves at you, you
are treated like an old friend and people nearby give u inquisitive looks.
After formal night out I dropped her to her P.G. and came
back to my room. Actually loads of other stuffs happened too, but are u expecting
me to share them too?
She would chop my head off!
Anyway it’s not my room but I am using it since my friend to
whom the room actually belongs, is on a summer visit to his home in the Raining
state of Meghalaya. OMG...I love that place…it rains all the time and I have a
long and primitive affair with monsoon.
After a hectic outing, I literary fell on my couch and slept
there.
As usual the next morning which actually pay the cost of
booze.
My head was so heavy and dizzy; I was feeling like the
epical story of Mahabharata being played with Pandavas fighting with the Kauravas
in land of kurukshertra (my cranium).
I popped two pills of Acetylsalicylic acid (oh c’mon it’s
just aspirin)-The age old remedy for treating hangover.
I took a bath and went to see a literary friend of mine in
reading cafe near Hauz Khas.
The friend was sitting in a far corner of cafe. The friend
said that the blogs are interesting. (Look the friend is smiling too). J
We discussed on some newspaper article and then the friend
dropped me at station and I returned back to my city. It was nearly midnight. I
sat down to write my blog but all can see was empty screen smiling with sarcasm.
Probably I need to change my mind I thought as I flipped through the pages newspaper..A
day older. But since I don’t know what happened today around the globe, I found
the yesterday's news to be new.
Tom cruise and Katy Holmes split and DSK’s split. The two
news which, once again reminded me of my blog. I discussed the Captain Sparrow
and parades row in it.
Why do we want divorce in love marriage? May be I agree with
you that going hands in hands, hanging out together, to love each other just do
not make good marriages in many cases.
But the basic reason which makes you feel to take a split
after having kids and settling is still out of my mind.
Probably one loves too much and other loves too many.
I started my browser to see latest news updates. Among many,
the most exciting and happening story was the German rise. Oh don’t feel heavy,
no Hitler this time claiming world war III.
They won the euro by doing the Italian job. Previously they won
the world cup.
So they are dominating the football scenario from past few
years.
My favorite player Karim Benzema disappointed me this season.
Probably Everyday is not for many.
But one day he will again bring that someday.
All you have to do is to keep the faith.
